PhoCusWright’s travel technology trade show TRAVDEX™ kicks off May 5-7, 2010 at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA.

TRAVDEX

TRAVDEX

TRAVDEX has been in the works since early last year, and the timing for the show seems to be just about right now, with the industry emerging from a downturn and searching for the right technology to aid expansion and cash in on rising demand and new channels.

Philip C. Wolf, President and CEO of PhoCusWright, said that “This is the perfect time for TRAVDEX. Travel is the world’s largest industry, highly fragmented and intensely competitive. And success is critically dependent on making the right choices about technology-based innovation and technical platforms.”

So what exactly is TRAVDEX and who is going to be there, besides you? Here’s the list of exhibitors. Travdex offers travel, tourism and hospitality industry buyers from around the world a one-stop shopping window for travel technology products, solutions and professional services.

In addition to the tech and marketing booths, product demonstrations and pre-scheduled one-on-one appointments, TRAVDEX will also be hosting the following seminars:-

Where Marketing Meets Technology – Focus of this ATME think tank will be on how to use customer intelligence intelligently, social media, rethinking website design and architecture, and mobile marketing. Henry Harteveldt, VP and Principal Analyst of Travel at Forrester Research, will be the keynote speaker. More details here.

The New Airline Business Model – Jay Sorensen, CEO, Idea Works will be offering a keynote titled Airline and Hotel Fees – Good, Wicked or Misunderstood,  followed by a panel to discuss standards in the airline industry and an ‘Airline Town Hall Breakfast’ the following morning with PhoCusWright CEO Philip Wolf. More details here.

In between these seminars, there will be more panels focused on social media insights and mobile strategies. Experts scheduled to appear on these panels are listed below:-

Jack Loop, Vice President Business Development, Mobiata
Patrick Payne, CEO, QuickMobile
Jeff Brown, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Next IT
Nadav Gur, Chief Commercial Officer, Worldmate
Douglas Quinby, Senior Director, Research, PhoCusWright
Martin Stoll, CEO, GoSeeTell

PhoCusWright CEO Philip Wolf hopes that ”After producing travel’s “go-to” conference of the year for almost two decades, I am confident TRAVDEX will similarly become the “go-to” travel technology trade show of the year.”

That’s not just a possibility, but almost a certainity, given PhoCusWright’s expertise at organizing trade shows, the top shelf crowd they regularly manage to attract as attendees and the amount of interest and buzz surrounding the first annual trade show dedicated to travel technology.
