Travel Insights 100 is now launched

PhoCusWright Connect is part of this select community of travel bloggers introduced by UpTake in partnership with the Tips from the T-List. The membership covers travel with a focus on the consumer as well as travel and tourism as the largest global industry.

The first survey conducted among the group on the topic of how Twitter is viewed and used by members can be read here. It contains some revealing statistics and comments about this hot micro-blogging tool many can no longer imagine doing business without.

  • I was struck by the importance the group gave Twitter. I see it as a tool for personal expression, many of them see it as a means of connecting about travel news, tips and insights.
  • Wasn't surprised at all. It can be used for so many purposes from the mundane to the effective customer service and business tool. Explains some of the rapid growth. Everyone can use it as they like. Also it's not intrusive due to the self-selection of followers. Great tool.

  • Don't think it is really mainstream here either but it has received a lot of attention by the mainstream media due to celebrity tweeters in entertainment and sports as well as politicians.
